Govt needs your support

Shikha Jain and every member, please read this.

Growing a tree, needs years; no science can do it overnight; uprooting a gust. Tsunami and earthquakes convey the same.

Government needs two things - time and support.

No denying, it has its pet projects and peeves too. Projects include Swachh Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana, renewables, Make in India, and of course the Smart Cities. Peeves are corruption, red tapism, gender bias, poverty and many more. Jan Dhan Yojana was like cutting the Gordian Knot of leaking subsidies.

Swachh Bharat is like growing green cover... Won't work out in a year and cannot ride on government shoulders ALONE. Needs immense support from the masses and the classes. We as a society are obsessed with looks and aesthetics. Sadly this fetish seems too selective. We fancy living in the poshest of localities, in the best designed houses. Our cars have to be the funkiest, family brides should the best looking females of the town. An accidental scratch on our cars and we can kill. And here comes the full stop. What doesn't belong to us (rather belongs to the government is not our concern) But still we do not stop rating it.

Roads are not our concerns nor is any other public property. Government will come and clean it. Sadar Bazaar on one end of Chelmsford and Lutyens' Delhi just a couple of kilometers down the road. The two juxtaposed offer the most conceivable antithesis. Introspect. We have failed as parents, educators and as society. Government is to be blamed but only as much.

Why does a country so obsessed with looks and aesthetics needs swachhta as abhiyan? Have you heard of Kapda Pahno Abhiyan, Khana Khaao Abhiyan? Ridiculous it sounds. Then why this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan? Do we need swachhta as abhiyan? We fail as parents when we don't tell our children what is expected out of them as civic citizens. How many times we have seen people tossing out empty plastic bottles from their cars. Almost daily.

Every time a global survey comes and we don't figure in top 100 or even 200... There is a huge hue and cry. We talk of chinks in our education system and gaps in skill development. All this happens at higher levels of education. Let's remember higher education makes professionals. Early education makes worthy citizens. We have failed in our ABCDs too. We have to instil the sense of possession and national honour to make our children civic.

If a policy is good, support it unconditionally. And see how things change for better. Besides teach your children ABCDs the right way. These include their civic responsibilities and integrity. more

Cleaning India is not only in hands of a government or how each children are taught about. 1. Throwing water bottles, covers outside the cars or from vehicles is absolutely wrong but we had people who picks those waste(employment) for their food. Picking up of waste is such a nice thing where panchayat people sent a lorry to collect those waste, where the vegetable waste are utilized for manure no. Instead it is being thrown in a area causing air pollution. 2.In schools or colleges they ask students to join as a scouts or in ncc, nss as of I know are they people are utilized in a right way. 3.Drainage system is not being properly maintained in a rural areas few people plant trees in their gardens where the drainage waters are used in the proper way. Even in rural areas where apartment system has evolved recent days cum few people who wants to get rent are they have a feet of bare land for the draining of drainage waters I really doubt. First leave some space in apartments to plant trees is their any proper rulings for them to follow these things. 4. Are they doing rainwater harvesting, especially apartments or building that were build in recent days including companies who checks for all these things, is their any organisation who checks for these things. 5.Even in a places where their is a well developed drainage system their is a air pollution, people in urban areas are still living in those areas and the problem is not sorted out. In rural areas their is no proper drainage system. My big question is in urban areas where huge population are being placed, when drainage system is possible why not in rural areas. 6. When their is a dam to store good waters why the water is being flowed in the lands that destroy the crops and in the other side people suffer from drinking water. instead of wasting the water to destroy the crops, why are they not utilising it for drinking it. 7. why are the drainage waters are not utilised for growing crops in scarcity period. After few purification when it is sent to the land, soil is a great purifier. Their are lot more to say about. We have everything set but not properly utilized or it is not functioning properly. Most of the people who come with good ideas especially youngsters are not recognized properly. They need not to be given wide recognization. at least they can be allowed to do in their own areas. We may introduce many yojanas but utilizing the existing structure and modifying all the departments which are linked with the swachh bharat as to function, if changes are to be made then government should take the intiative. Lot such things need for this. are these are being done in the past 1year????????????????? more
