Govt. order probihiting demolition of Jhuggis till further order

Delhi Govt. order probihiting demolition of Jhuggis till further order may lead to undue advantage by constructing new jhuggis at govt land.

Govt must also pass orders not to allow any new encroachment on govt land for jhuggis. Otherwise, situation may go out of control. MCD and police have to be vigilant on this. more

This seems to be a retrograde/populist step and seems to have been taken with political expediency in mind without thinking about the pros/cons of the issue. In my view this will encourage more such illegal constructions/encroachments coming up in the City more
I guess AAP government should come out with a strategy for these encroachments in Delhi. Land is already a scarce resource in Delhi, so it cannot be played with. AAP should first focus on Master Plan 2021 and make provisions for ample parking in ALL new constructions. MCD was scolded by Delhi Court for relaxing norms for plots < 100 meters and for plots > 500 meters. For unauthorized colonies/constructions, AAP should first do ground work and NOT get fooled by MCD strategy. Beware of MCD people PLEASE. AAP should not bow down to the pressure from Media, for quickly giving relief in electricity tariffs. AAP should not forget that people's mandate is of 5 years. It is crucial for them to work not caring what Media says, else they will end up like Modi. AAP has taken the right step by boycotting Media. more
AAP Govt must take MCD and police into confidence before passing any such orders since it will help them know cons and proactive actions to counter any problems. more
