Govt procurement allocated for start ups

There was an order some time back that all govt ministries and depts will now be procuring 20% from start ups. Can anyone share if they have received an order or business as a start up? How can a start up activate that scheme. Who in say a ministry of ayush will know about it. Should there be a start up india nodal officer in every ministry? more

Hi Naina, What you are referring to is: the PPP, 2012 (Public Procurement Policy) as per which it is mandatory for all CPSU's and Govt. departments (except defence procurement) to procure 20% of their annual requirement of goods and services from MSEs (Micro & Small Enterprises), out of which 4% shall be from SC/ST MSEs to ensure a fair share of market to MSEs. Later their was another policy circular on 10th March 2016 from Ministry of MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) regarding relaxation of norms for startups and MSEs in Public Procurement on prior Experience - prior turnover criteria in Tender bidding. To avail this and other benefits for MSMEs, MSME units need to self-register themselves on Udyog Aadhaar portal : more
