Govt study now tells us it was B.1.617.2 that caused havoc

IMP findings of INSACOG Genomic Sequence study:
*Delta (B.1.617.2) Variant (Origin: India) has become dominant variant in India
*Delta variant has 50% higher transmission rate than Alpha (B.1.17)
*Risk of breakthrough infections (COVID19 after vaccine) HIGH due to Delta Variant

So what you said was largely right. Why is the Government always late and after the fact. One area that they were unable to cover was that b.1.617.2 is more lethal or not than b.1.1.7 or 2020 strain which is odd. Ask any famiky that got Covid between apr 15 and may 31

So many experts and sufferers in this circle have been raising red flags.

The study of Govt attached is of nonuse with second wave and only for future waves. more

Observations on COVID variants
The below has been put together based on collective feedback of citizens on LocalCircles who have themselves experienced COVID or had a family member who experienced COVID recently and what Scientists, Epidemiologists and Doctors are reporting. There are some assumptions made but if you are the one who would rather error on the side of caution, you may please take note: 1) The two dominant strains in India currently are B.1.1.7 (UK variant) and B.1.617.2 (Indian variant or Triple Mutant) 2) The B.1.1.7 is likely causing mild COVID while B.1.617.2 is causing more aggressive COVID. The sudden oxygen drop cases we are hearing about can likely be attributed mostly to B.1.617.2 3) In case of B.1.617.2, the symptoms are likely showing as early as 36-48 hours after exposure 4) People are contracting B.1.617.2 despite taking one or both vaccine doses and with moderate or severe symptoms. In case some one contracts B.1.1.7 post one or both vaccine doses, the symptoms are mostly mild. 5) Even if someone has had COVID once i.e. D614G or 2020 strain or B.1.1.7, they can get B.1.617.2 thereafter 6) People are contracting B.1.617.2 via air transmission route (without human/droplet contact) Given all the above: 1) Stay home. Go out only for emergencies or to earn livelihood and nothing else. 2) If you must go out, it is strongly suggested that you wear a N95 (non valve) or KN95 mask. 3) If you have any visitors coming home, insist on double masking and keep disposable masks handy to give to them. 90% Cloth masks have near zero effectiveness and 50% Indians are reportedly using them. 4) If you are taking a vaccine dose, get a RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Test done before it. Vaccinating an asymptomatic COVID+ve individual can overstimulate their immune response making COVD moderate or severe. Stay Home, Stay Safe. Only together, we will get through this!

Looking to the characteristic of the virus and its trend of frequent mutation, it may not be possible to preditermine its next course of mutation and get prepared to face the attack with least sufferings of our people. One thing appears to be certain that Corona is likely to stay for years and we hve to learn to live with it. more
If the virus goes on changing its form and create more problem, the doctors or scientists have to find alternative methods for treatment and it takes time. more
What can the government do if the virus goes on mutating? Should only concentrate on enforcing covid protocols and local restrictions till the vaccination reaches 70 % of the population. more
Every Tom, Dick, Harry and few Mariams has become experts on Covid. Like the needle of the Compus needle always point the north, we have people with such view but looking to the west for news, views, and guidance. From the vast ocean of good ,bad, and ugly information these people will take a spoon full and "paste" it on this platform. They themselves do not know what is the meaning of the content. If it could be used to beat the establishment they are more happy. Explain to me what knowledge, or academic/research experience this author have? Such posts should be deleted and shoved in to trash box. more
These so called and self proclaimed experts go on giving one comment after another. But the problem is these experts do not know anything about the Virus. Can they tell for sure whether the virus is man made or transmitted by animals or just the atmosphere has infected with the virus? One so called expert even went the distance by saying that by consuming 2 spoons of sugar in ones coffee/tea the immunity level goes down by 50% and hence the virus attacks such people. more
