There is no question regarding the working of the government : People are sincere, effective, corruption free and no unnecessary talking largely. But certain things are not good to look at. There are given for example. : 1. Platform tickets in Railway station 2. Cancellation charges of Railway. 3. Price of Petrol and Diesel. 4. Insurance charges ... The point is : it is not enough to be good. It is necessary to be looking good also. Hope the PM will have a look more
Government should find ways and means to tax the Public - on spending - because when taxing on income /revenue comes a majority people is left out; because they are earning in unorganized ways;(only salaried classes is coming into this); mainly by way of cash transactions either legal money or illegal money i.e. second account. But if we start taxing on expenses all money spent will be coming into the taxable circles; every expenditure thru debit card or credit card or cash should be levied with a certain percentage of tax; to start with a lower percentage may be adopted; so that we can drive the people into accounting of their expenses in whatever way they incur; for whatever purpose; more
Present Govt is sensitive and they have decided to roll back on taxing of EPF, PPF. Good step taken by PM in right direction. more
Increasing standard deduction from 2.5 lacs to 2.7 lacs would mean a saving of only Rs. 6,000.00 per annum at the highest tax slab. Only about 3% Indians pay income tax. To make it wider, expenditure need to be taxed. Up the standard deduction to 5 lacs, reduce tax rates by 5% and add 5% VAT on non- food items. Remove cess and increase service tax to 15%. This way, one would be forced to pay tax when using undeclared money. This class is not paying income tax on undeclared money but would be forced to pay indirect tax. To nullify the impact of indirect taxes, minimum wages will need to be re- examined and compliance ensured. Honest income tax payer will not mind paying these increased indirect taxes as his direct tax liability has come down and he is paying indirect taxes on fraction of his income. Tax on value addition on long term Savings & Investments should be capped at 10% and 0% for infrastructure bonds. more
