After implementation of new GST regime, The manufacturers and traders have started new practice of packing the eating goods in large carton and inside small packing do not have any details of the product , date 0f manufacture. price etc. more
learned members a simple question.has any one seen airline selling cuppa noodle in packed form?what i have observed is that cuppa noodle pack is opened, hot water is poured inside and a spoon/fork is given.essentially the airline is not selling cuppa noodle but a prepared dish and therefore mrp provisions are not applicable. more
i agree to the airlines part, here we ve dual mrp in malls... that needs to be checked more
Charging Rs.200 in flight for an item which is available for Rs.30 on ground is definitely gross violation of consumer right but if you look at it from the airline perspective, every kg of weight counts money for them. Each air craft has limited weight carrying capacity which is divided among various categories such as passenger weight, free baggage, fuel, cargo etc. each kg of weight has its commercial value. If the airline carries 30 kg of food items for its passenger it looses that much amount on cargo. So to make amend to this kind of loss they charge higher because at 32000 fit above sea level no vendor will come to you like it happens in railways. Their calculation is different from that of sellers on ground. Secondly it is wrong impression now that only rich people travel by air. It might have been true 30 years ago but now even middle class people travel by air because on some routes air fare is cheaper than that of railways. It is time for airline to reconsider there pricing policy and make it consumer friendly. more
