The proposed tax rates on plastic products under GST (goods and services tax) is likely to affect the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in plastic sector.
Most plastic products were being sold with value-added tax (VAT) ranging from 5 per cent to 14.5 per cent. These products will now attract GST rates of 18 per cent and 28 per cent.

Be realistic How many purchasers go for receipt or bill If purchasing below 1000 it is mostly seen that consumers avoid long formalities. Would any body suggest what is way out Or how to educate or insist for bills to consumers. more

As GST is recently introduced there are many things which needs clarification but instead of waiting patiently for the solution they are making havoc by spreading rumors as in this case that small manufacturers will have to wind up their business. Only what I can say is that the person who were only doing Black Business nothing in Black & White i.e. not making Bills or getting registered will be affected rest all who were already paying taxes & keeping record of purchases & Sales will work as usual with little here & there changes. Initially it may be troublesome but in due course of time everything will get streamlined so be quiet & watch patiently. more
