GST Charges on Foreign Services

Can someone please advise if we are procuring web hosting services from abroad, do we have to pay GST under reverse charge in India on behalf of vendor. How can startups with no revenues do this? more

I don't what this has got to do with startups with no revenue got to do. Its business involves expenses fixed capital and working capital otherwise everybody would be doing business. Once your startup starts making money more money like so many startups make in millions and billions I don't see them ready to pay 120% GST Your logic doesn't make sense. As for GST charges If the hosting company has a presence in India then you will have to pay GST like I pay GST on Godaddy domain and web hosting services. My friend has an account in Hostgator India and he pays GST but I have to host in Hostgator USA and I don't pay GST. I believe this is a problem that is why GOvt of India has been doing something, what I am not sure, but for some reason, in the last few years all the web hosting and domain name companies who were getting lots of business from India opened up offices here and are now taking and paying GST. But not everyone is doing that. I have web hosting with many companies only Godaddy Hostgator India I have seen take GST other foreign companies don't have the provision. more

GST is Applicable on Imported Services if you are paying for it to foreign vendor. Under GST, supply of goods and/or services in the course of import into India is deemed to be supply in the course of inter-State trade or commerce, attracting the levy of IGST. Importer of services will have to pay GST on reverse charge basis. more
GST will only become liable if any transactions occur. more
I would like to quote an example , We purchase PDF monthly subscription from Adobe and is place in Luxembourg but we pay GST here for that more
