GST good thing under worst supervision

I have booked a flat last year with 50:50 plan and i already have paid 50% amount with service tax @ 4.5%. Now builder is saying I'll have to pay remaining 50% with 12%GST, no input-output credit benefit is confirmed. So what has happened to PM's home for all scheme? I'm from lower middle class earning group having mind set of not demanding anything free from government. But I have voted for fair policies and governance, not for the extra burden on my basic necessities like home. Why do I pay 7.5% extra tax when this not a luxury item but a need for all. Because of anti end-user policy RERA we are already paying extra for delay and on top of that this GST has break our back bone. Dear government we haven't demanded for free home but atleast don't put extra burden on us. more

One should first see the demand from builder and then we should all plan together against this rise. I have not received any such communication from the builder so far for the balance payment. more

Hi Rajeev Ranjan Please read the following article to get the information on GST saving on flat purchase. taxguru.in/goods-and-service-tax/calculate-benefits-gst-purchasing-apartments.html Thanks CA Ashok Malhotra - 9313888859 more
every body talks about GST implementation keeping the businessman in mind. How a consumer can be reassured that he has to pay the tax only once. It appears that the businessman can claim refund on the taxes paid on inputs but the benefit of this refund does not go to consumers. more
The only solution to this is raise a complaint when you are not sure whether you are paying extra tax, whether the businessman is taking or not taking the input tax credit. It has to be borne by the common citizen because if it not like that the it is very difficult to run the economy. Yes there can be lower rate to be charged but it cannot be the situation where even a common man will get the credit of the tax. more
Most of the builders are claiming 12% GST from the Flats purchasers. Government should clarify this. more
