GST Malpractices by Amway India
I recently joined Amway India as a distributor and as per their rules bought some Household FMCG goods and other packaged items (some bills have been attached for your perusal). I was happy that they gave me a 6% discount but charged me 18% GST on top of MRP. Please see the bills and advice if this is fair practice and what redressal steps can be taken to stop this malpractice as it impacts not only me but all people who are so-called distributors but in actual fact consumers of Amway products as Amway operates on a convenient multi-level marketing (MLM) model. Can a big MNC with an annual turnover of more than ₹200 crore get away with this malpractice and fleecing of customers. more

Hi Neeru. Kindly note you cannot purchase at MRP from Amway. What you see on your bill is the Distributor price (that is DAP/ reduced price). And hence you need to pay the VAT (value added tax currently 18%). You can see the complete list of tax calculations in your Anway profile (can download as a PDF) more

Mrs. Neeru Sood, even we are ABOs since April 2016. But we or any of our group ABOs has ever faced such a situation. I completely agree with Shri SK Virmani. You've been billed at DAP and not MRP. And the DAP is inclusive of GST. However, as per Govt of India norms, the GST amounts have been shown bifurcated separately, but do not add up to the final amount that was charged from you. Better think twice before making any such baseless allegation against an organisation of such repute. It hurts the sentiments of honest and sincere business owners. more

I perfectly agree, The Corporation applies GST on the Product base price only and not on the MRP, I don't understand the level of knowledge and patience People are keeping now a days. more

MRP includes all texes there is no need to add additional amount in MRP. You can compaint this to company or government agencies. more
