Every one is in hurry and no time to ask bill . Similarly traders are also busy and do not give bill and pay tax. It may take a generation to change the system, but the question is which generation will take the initiative and have time to think.may be next? Because we are busy. more
Sri. R V K BABU, good that you mention about generation. Actually, this corrupt practice will continue forever unless parents bring up their children in an ethical way. Otherwise, corruption will be alive and well forever. more
Why do we have to follow other countries in creating better systems for our country. Wish to invite the writers on GST to come down from their regular activity and try to start and run a small company in the present GST envoirment and then give lectures on GST. It is a real mess out there. Please do not go by what big companies say, they can afford a whole regiment of persons to run the show and probably they hope that small guys will be out of business. the law makers and implementation agencies(govt) make complicated rules so that most of us end up on the wrong side and the gratification/corruption process continues. The rules are made in such fashion that we need consultants for everything , even to fill up a form. It is clear that the Government makes rules to create employment or jobs. We are not No.1 economy in this world because of this kind of approach. Merit has no value, it is raining reservations in education and jobs and in law enforcement agencies. People asking for reservations are simply selfish, we are in 2000's not in 1940's when there was slavery. Systems created by already corrupt system will always ensure that corruption carry on. Corruption has become a habit and habits die hard. If we continue like this the habit will never die. Are we interested in stopping corruption? It appears that no one is sure, because every new rule made again leads to fresh corruption. The political establishments are actually in business, so they will ensure that their business is not affected. The people are really being taken for a ride by this business group. This group has created checks and balances in such a manner that the people remain their slaves. we were slaves of the British then and now we are slaves of our Government and politicians. Few good men can't do much, the system will ensure their failure , they cannot be tolerated by the corrupt system. The people should come out in favour of out of the book reforms. The govt requires Tax , this could be collected by way of transaction tax. All currency notes above Rs.20/- to go out, all transactions only by way of plastic cards , internet banking , or any other form of digital system only, hundreds are available today. For every transaction , a tax will be debited automatically by the system at the time of the transaction itself ( like TDS).The govt gets its revenue. The govt does not spend on monitoring business and tax collection expenses , AND out goes all discretion of the person on the spot, complicated rules/laws , no intrusion , no chance of corruption, millions of court cases will not appear, only benefits for every one. The recording and submission of accounts/income for individuals/groups/firms and organisations to be submitted to the Govt , for the purpose of ensuring there are no illegalities with reference to the laws of the land. Everything records/financial statement remains as it is, except there is no hard cash to corrupt. This goes well with the slogan from PM, LESS GOVERNMENT . ALL administrative and accounting persons need not worry about loosing jobs. OR still better, the persons employed in the collection and accounting could be free to come to business , more entrepreneurs and the country will be number one in the world. Presently , the entrepreneur is doing less business and more of complying with the wonderful laws created by persons never affected by the laws. One half is doing all the hard work and the other half is simply sitting over the first half and creating trouble, harrasment, and earning and surviving. more
Is it possible for the Local Circles to open a separate circle or recommend the initiation of a website where we can upload our bill and register our complaints about shops which do not display the GST number or give hand written bill but charge GST? This site should operate in an open and transparent manner wherein the actions taken on a particular shop by the authorities based on our complaints also can be viewed by one and all. This will give an incentive for those who complain and act as a deterrent for those who violate the law. In case a deliberately false complaint is filed, there should be provision for punishing such individuals also. This way, the system will be fair for both the buyer and the seller while stopping cheating of the customers and evading due tax for the Government. Can the other members of this give their views on this suggestion please? more
Every AUTHENTIC Cash Memo has the GST no. Printed on it. S there is no need to ask. Problms usually arises in Hand written bills from Grocery shops, since they avoid paying and collecting GST. Our duty is NOT TO BUY from such shops. Actually, I have yet to come across any problem with any restaurant in Sector 18, Noida, or in the various Malls of Noida. For certain the items sellers lined up on foot paths, neither pay GST nor are Registered. The only real way is for us, THE PUBLIC to stop buying from them. In fact it would appear that the guys selling goods from Footpaths are actually attendants of the adjacent shops, who try to reduce their actual turnover by not showing sales from the footpath attendant. This is a sue way of making money and also not paying Income tax. ONLY WAY TO ELIMINATE THIS IS ---- Stop buying from them. But, how many of us actually do that? more
GST registration number should be displayed in the establishment and its bill. If one is asked to pay GST without bill refuse to pay. Some time back I had a similar experience in a hotel and refused to pay and made them revise the bill. more
