GST ON COMMERCIAL SPACE ON RENT

Can someone please clarify is GST is to be paid by the Property owner for premises given on rent for commercial purpose? If yes, is the owner required to file for GST as regular or Composition dealer?
Thanks more

agreed with Mr. Prabhat Bolia Ji, Rent of commercial property for commerce or business, or rent of residential property for business purpose attract GST. If annual rent is more than 20 lac than gst registration is required. more

I have appointed a Security Agency who have deputed Security Guards to look after the building. They charge GST on the landlord. Can this GST be taken as input while remitting and deducted from the total GST collected from tenants? more
GST is applicable on Rent on Commercial or industrial property. GST is payable when the business of the turnover of the person who have given the property on rent is above 20 lakhs then he/she is liable to pay GST on rent. In case the turnover is below 20 Lakhs but registered under GST then GST is payable. But the turnover of the Rent plus business is below 20 lakhs and not registered under GST then No GST to be paid. In case of his /her tunrover is below 60 lakhs of service then he can opt for Composition otherwise regular. In case of composition he cannot charge GST seperate in Bill raised by him/her. But in case of Regular he can charge GST in addition to the Rent. The Tenant can take the input of the Rent paid by him/her. more
It's to be paid by owner and can be charged from tenant... Also tenant needs to deduct tds on rent more
Thanks for the reply more
