GST on discounted price
The GST is divided equally between central government and state government. So if GST of the commodity has been fixed at 12% then it will be divided and shown in bill separately as CGST @ 6% and SGST @ 6%.
For consumer there is no difference. But for seller since he has to file taxes separately he has to keep the record. more
They have to recalculate the MRP by reducing the earlier taxes from the MRP and then add only GST component and bill at the new price.
You can complain to the local GST office if the seller is not billing you at the revised price. more
