GST on MRP in auto parts industry
Is very common. See attached where GST has been charged over above MRP. It is very common in auto parts industry.
Request UP officials to get active in this regards and get this practice stopped. more

Pl do not expect any thing from the government departments to control such unfair trade practices. In case you are really concerned, then all aggrieved consumers have to fight collectively by taking class action in consumer fora of various district / state level. more

MRP is the max selling price inclusive of GST.However with heavy competition the market price for spares is definitely less than MRP. more

In general the manufacturer of a product make huge profit on Spare parts. Some original spares are made scarce and artificial scarcity is created. It may be necessary to fix the cost of a spare based on the purchase cost or the cost at which it is manufactured in the plant. Since there are are lot of incentives are given to the manufacturers by Government they must overpower the tendency of the manufacturer to overcharge and control the sale cost. Fix MRP to sell to the customer. Overcharging by the retailor or service point must be penalised. more

Sir, please take up your complaint with UP State Controller of Legal Metrology. As per rules, MRP is inclusive of all taxes and in general, the MRP written on auto spare parts is generally on the higher side than the actual price and the retailer sell these items substantially less than MRP. more
