Today I was transferring funds from one bank to another in my own account. I was shocked to learn that the transaction attracts 5% GST beside the transaction fees booked by the bank. I find this atrocious and needs to be withdrawn. What do you think? more
Govt want to encourage digital transactions and banks want to earn on that. Money saved is money earned. Let us save money by not doing digital transactions. Draw cash once a month. more
Some bankers charge taxes in their own way to play safe at the cost of consumers. It will be better to take up with the bank and escalate to the level of banking ombudsman, if there is no proper response. If the tendency continues, we should withdraw entire month's expenses from the bank through ATM or self cheque and spend in cash. If everyone starts doing it, bank authorities will take a note and change the self styled system. more
