Small cars should be placed in lower GST band. Cars above 10 lackhs can be charged at higher rate.Soon petrol and diesel cars are going to be off the shelf. By 2020 there will be big market for electric cars. By design electric cars are less polluting, need less maintenance and fuel cost is much less. But the special batteries for the cars are costly and the cars are slightly highly priced. Govt is already considering subsidizing the cost to bring the switch over. I very strongly feel that GST on electric cars should be in the lowest bracket. more
