I feel the GST rates are exorbitant, 18% on spare parts / labour- I feel has it been 10% parts & 5% labour would have garnered more revenue, with more & more consumers willing to pay without hesitation. The rate of GST is on higher side in case of insurance/bank charges. more
I agree that people have to be honest in paying their legitimate Taxes. Once this happens to a large extent, the rate of taxation would automatically be reduced. Further, I also agree that Rich Agriculturists, or those earning beyond Rs. 10,00,000 a year MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE TAX NET. Mr. Shishir Kant says that Government is GREEDY. This is a STUPID analysis. Iam sure such people are those who do not pay taxes and cheat the Country and the people. more
Are all the people paying taxes honestly? The day this will start automatically Govt will reduce taxes.Another is rich Agriculturist must be taxed. This will give good boost to the tax collection. Now a days it has been seen that many a rich people are trying to obtain the tag of Agriculturist so that they can avoid paying taxes. more
I think Sanjeev kumar is missing the point of erstwhile Excise duty+State taxes VAT+octroi, Service tax+cess etc., which is now unified into single GST hence looks bigger. For B2B input credits will offset Output GST payable. Most traders pass on this differential benefits to B2C customers. Hope this is clear. more
with due respect, Kindly read my suggestion is towards service/ job/ labour components, where only a service tax @12% was levied earlier, Now it is 18% GST in most cases, My view is had it been lower would have encouraged people to pay upfront & even traders would have pushed hard their customers to pay, than offering excuse. more
I do hope that a "GENTLE MAN" by the name of Shirir kant will also read your remarks on GST. There are many people like him who do not know what GST really is and calls the government GREEDY. This itself is gross stupidity more
