GST

After two years of enriching auditors and harassing the small and medium businessmen in india the top brains of the country have found the necessity of simplifying the GST returns. They have declared that the form is simple but the real picture will be known only when put before the public for use.
In medical they used to say one simple test for a particular disease replaces hundred of tests suggested to elliminate other diseases .
I will conclude with an fictious loan form filling by an agriculturalist for a loan of Rupees 10000
after filling his aadhar etc he comes to loan section with the help of his B.Sc son with computer knowledge.
Have you got/applied loan under E mudra scheme?
Have you got/applied loan from PMY yogana scheme?
Have you got/applied loan from Atul self develpment scheme?
Have you got/applied loan from national rural development sceme?
Have you got/applied loan from nabard for rehabilating desert land scheme?
Have you got/applied loan from nabard palmirah development scheme?
Have you got/applied loan from state agricultural department for draught relief scheme?
Father: what is it going on? I asked to apply for govt loan. you are trying for a long time.
Son: father. i have to go thro each scheme to find out all about schemes to answer.
father: one simple question whether you have applied loan under any govt scheme would do. but our learned pundits and govt officers would not put such intelligent questions since their intention is not to help but to keep you frightened with folded hands in their presence. more

All these government schemes are launched for different purpose and are meant to be one time support to tide over financial issues. The idea is to gather information if the person has taken loan under any one of these schemes earlier and if he has repaid the loan or is a defaulter. One person is not allowed to take benefit of multiple schemes at the same time. The idea is to dissuade people from taking benefit under multiple schemes, then turning defaulters and subsequently creating pressure on the government for loan waivers. The person could answer a simple yes or no to each question. If one is not aware of the various schemes then obviously he will have to spend the time to find out about these schemes. The other option is to visit various government departments and find out about various schemes which is not efficient (in terms of time, money and knowledge). The good part is that because of the internet and this particular question in the form, the applicant will become aware of various schemes (if he is not aware) and can take benefit of the relevant scheme. more
Word "simple" means different things to different people. Politician love to say it all the time because anyway they dont understand complicated thing, the bureaucrat feels he is simplified it because instead of 4 pages, now you fill only two pages and us poor soul, the words means filling up forms that mean nothing to me. The PM says minimum government maximum governance but in practical life they have not only increased government size but now interfering in everything we do. I guess we will have to bear and grin and hope our life improves. It is like many years back i.e.1983 when i first came to Mumbai i saw a board outside a dug out road- this is for your better future. Since then i have seen this board without fail every year but till date there is no better present life in Mumbai. We keep struggling every day and everyone else lauds Mumbaikar's famed patience in face of adversity more
India is a mindset borne by Its people. Formal education may not be the only approach, we need a complete social reform to change such illetrate selfish people behind the transparent processes. Many of the redefined procedures, mostly IT enabled are still paralysed by people. Lets Identify, Inform and Initiate - 3 Public EYEs more
yes.hope it will take another seventy years to come out of this bureaucratic administrative model of democratic india where filebuilding is more important rather than solving the people's problems. more
He has raised an important issue of the difficulties faced in the system. The fundamental point that one should note, in designing a document, is to keep at as simple as possible. more
