Handling the safety for Railways

Given the scale, density and demography of our railway operations, safety always has been a challenge to manage. Railways should commission an innovation division that should be able to work on future innovations that are sourced from Indian start-ups, are highly cost effective and are progressive in nature to deliver best quality railway network services in the country. There is no reason why India can't deliver the best train service even if we are not the richest in terms of economy but for sure there is great richness in terms of innovation. I would ideas from people associated with Railways to see how it can be realized. more

i traveled lot of country but i saw only those who have a travel ticket they are allowed to flat form before 20 mts of railway depature . all unauthorised people should not be allowed . it helps security as well keep the platform neat . thankyou jayakumar bangalore more
I AGREE WITH YOU. NOT ONLY INNOVATION BUT RAILWAYS SHOULD CORRECTLY ALLOCATE FUND IN THIS REGARD. RAILWAYS PROPERTY IN URBAN AND SUBURBAN AREAS ARE ENCROACHED BY POOR AS WELL AS RICH / MAFIA'S. THIS IS ONE OF THE HURDLE TO MAINTAIN SAFETY AND SPEED OF RAILWAYS.  APART FROM UNMANNED LEVEL CROSSING, IMPROPER MAINTENANCE OF  MANNED LEVEL CROSSING APPROACH ARE ALSO MAIN SAFETY PROBLEM.   YOURS DEBENDRA NATH SINHA On Friday, 18 July 2014 2:01 PM, Rakesh Mishra wrote: more
For this Railways should get out of rigid bureaucratic attitude and adopt a businesslike attitude. more
The Most important thing is attitude of people towards public property should change. Some one say something in America here people throw stone on bus , Rail etc. People should feel that this is our property , National property & should be maintain as we maintain our home. Unless we develop National spirit only railway department can be effective ? Recently camera fitting decision was announced for clean and neat environment, one MLA commented that are you going to fit camera in toilet ? If attitude is not changed all other efforts will be drained. Maintaining is joint responsibility of Railway as well as public. more
That's exactly what I was thinking. If we can get people who either have been in Railway operations service or are currently serving there, we can have result oriented discussions. As local circle group, we can deliver value only if we are able to identify various action tracks and create actionable outcomes from group engagement. I'm more than happy to be part of such an initiative to shape up the actionable ideas and mobilize the joint innovation proposal with Railways for future innovation. more
