HAS CORRUPTION COME TO STAY IN TAMIL NADU

The news that Dinakaran is convincingly leading in R K Nagar poll has shocked anti corruption crusaders.

The earlier shock was the 2G spectrum verdict ,where the judge has said no scam and acquitted all the accused.

In the first case, people seem to be unconcerned about the corruption and in the second case, judge seems to be unconcerned.

The observation of the Madras High court judge that Tamil Nadu is the most corrupt state in India is apt.

As it looks now, the corruption free Tamil Nadu is nowhere in sight. .

It is not good to suggest that the CVC and the Chief Judge should report to the President. The judiciary and Vigilance Commission are supposed to be independent and not underlings to anybody who could also be corrupt. As I read the results, I find that the voters have voted against both the DMK and the AIADMK since they have seen through their machinations and their dismal disregard for the public welfare and well being. Their Power is Paramount and nothing else. That they have voted for an independent and neither of the two parties is the noteworthy fact. Many of the public have voiced their disenchantment with the two tussling DMK and AIADMK and wished for a suitable alternative. Regrettably neither the Congress nor the BJP seem to fill the bill. I shouldn't be surprised if the winner in the 2019 elections turns out to be NOTA! L.Kalavathi Retd. Bank Official Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 26/12/2017 more
Corruption has not come to Tamil Nadu. It has been there for long and has only been increasing day by day. TN is perhaps the most corrupt state in the country. Nothing, literally nothing happens in TN government without greasing the palms of the government employees in every function of the government. Even in electoral corruption, TN leads with a huge gap from the next most corrupt state. I must admit, for example, in the RK Nagar bypoll, the electorate have been the winners as they have apparently been paid heavily by both factions of AIADMK and they have happily taken the money and have voted for the one they thought better of the two corrupt candidates. Corruption is perhaps the only form of Indian cancer for which scientists have made it clear they can never find a cure. more
We have to look at the following issues; 1. A candidate who was found to distribute cash for vote has been allowed to contest this election by the Election Commission 2. A person who is accused in FERA violation case pending in the Courts has been allowed to contest in this election by EC 3. Such as person has been accepted by the people of a constituency as a candidate worth voting for 4. That the voters in RK Nagar took money distributed, to decide their representative. 5. 59 candidates have been allowed to contest in one constituency 6. Out of the 59, 57 have lost their deposits. A huge haul for the Election Commission. more
We cannot presume with the voter's mood of the constituency in general, because illiterate and poverty of the people along with money power in particular toothless election commission cannot do any thing. Only crores of public money was wasted by the election commission for this gimmick. more
Nothing is impossible. The politicians irrespective of the regional or national party should be honest. The Judiciary which is responsible for maintaining Dharmic way of life should have powers to proceed with cases of criminal as well as loss to the public property/money without allowing any adjournment or if need be to modify the charges on the availability of documentary or other evidences. Decision of the Hon'ble President in consultation with the chief judge (to deal with cases pertaining to politicians) to be obtained to allow an appeal. Time frame of 15 days to be provided for appeal. Further, the name of the judge should not be let known. Proceedings to be in camera. The penal code should provide for capital punishment to the charged as well as to the President of the Party who was in charge at the time of occurrence ,when the loss to exchequer is greater than and/ or the disproportionate asset is greater than one crore. The CVC and the chief judge are to be under the direct directions of the President. more
ABSOLUTELY THERE IS NO ANY ACTION PLAN BY ANY OF PARTIES INCLUDING BJP, AS WELL NAM TAMILAR, ONLY ORNAMENTAL AND SENSATIONAL SPEECH IN THE MEDIA BUT NO BASE ROOT ACTION USING THE HELP OF MANY LATEST TECHNICAL DEVICES TO MAKE UNDERSTAND MAINLY THE DOWNTRODDEN , WHICH ACTION INVOLVES LOT OF PATIENCE AND COURAGE. VERY SAD TO NOTE NO ANY NGO OR BIG CORPORATE NOT GETTING PARTICIPATED WITH THIS NOBLE CAUSE MAY BE FOR THE REASON OF THEIR OWN VESTED INTEREST, WHILE THEY POUR MONEY FOR ALL TYPE OF POLITICAL PARTIES ON VARIOUS HEADS LIKE ELECTION FUND ETC. TAMILNADY IN PARTICULAR GOT SO MUCH SPOILED MAINLY BY THESE DRAVIDIAN PARTIES TO VOTE ON MONEY, MUSCLE POWER AND MANIPULATION, RULED BY MONEY. TO CHANGE THIS MANY DECADES NURTURED ILLEGAL MONECRAZY, A POSSIBLE ONE OF MEAN TO RESOLVE IS TO INVOLVE NGO AND MONEYED PHILANTHROPIST FROM LEADING BUSINESS HOUSES, SIMILAR TO A PROVERB, THORN REMOVED BY A THORN. more
Corrupt politicians are acquitted for inefficient performance of CBI and its waste of time and money for enquiry commission more
Yes this shows how the public is selfish & money minded. This is very sad situation where we say Tamils are intellectuals. more
it is only currency crazy not democracy. Voters education should start from school stage, mainly the basis for selection of candidates.many reforms required with lot of political will. we have noticed a very big criticism against demonetization and GST which are not involving any of political direct interest. But, electoral, judicial, police etc reforms affects the political influence, which no party would agree. Very sad to note Tamilnadu vote mainly based on the money corruption and this has so deep rooted and prevalence for more than three decades in ascending manner and so the election can never be termed as fair and balanced. more
Nothing will change unless the people themselves understand the ploy of the self serving politicians. Even the laws are such that rich can get away with any crime by engaging the devil's advocates without any moral values who are the vast majority in the legal profession. more
