Though DURONTO trains are from station to station, some local considerations should be considered. For example if Mumbai - Ahmedabad Duronto stops at Borivali, I am sure more people will use it. more
Dynamic fare system is being misused to earn more revenues. It is not correct to loot people who are already paying comparatively higher charges when they choose such train and class of travel. One should not kill hen who gives golden eggs. It is exploiting. Railways need to put their house in order, increase efficiency and productivity of employees and stop wasteful expenditures. Why Railway Employees and MPs should get free tickets? And so on..... more
The dynamic fare system itself is unsuitable in our country. Instead, the railways could go for a fare hike at nominal rates every year for every classes at least to run it on the principle of 'no profit no loss', if not on the principle of earning profit. It is foolishness to run trains with empty coaches, instead the railways could consider introducing a system of reduced fare if the berths are found unreserved till a pre-decided period prior to departure of a specific train. In this way the railways can avoid heavy financial loss by offering some concession in fares to attract passengers at the last moment to avoid a situation of running with empty coaches. more
Dear Bhattacharya Sir. You are right in suggesting the Railways to review their Dynamic fare policy. Ultimately, the trains with dynamic fares will go vacant berths and people will travel without buying tickets, with the help of the running staff. When 200 berths are vacant in the train then the dynamic fare should also go down even below the normal train fare. But for Railways the dynamic fare means only positive upwards. Secondly you are asking a MOON from Railways to permit a passenger to go by an earlier train if that contains large number of vacant berths with the tickets booked against a later train. This they will never do it not because of technical issues, but they do not have the WILL. more
