The relation of egg yolk and cholesterol is quite controversial. As many as studies suggest that egg with yellow part has bad impact on cholesterol, there are equally number of studies which suggest that egg as whole (white and yellow) is good for cholesterol as it increases good cholesterol and decreases bad one. The studies suggest that taking only white or yellow is not good for health. Personally I believe in moderation if someone has high cholesterol, so 2 to 3 eggs per week should be good. more

very good info, worth circulating more widely. In my view, consumption of about 6-7 boiled eggs per week could be a good option for a balanced benefit to health. more

But Raja Saheb, people say there is cholesterol in egg yolk and daily eating eggs should be avoided, particularly with the feed given to chickens these days -- all sorts of waste food, vitamins, pesticide sprays, steroids (to get more and bigger eggs, I think) etc. I am totally confused, so I eat one or two eggs in a week - that too only boiled - no fried eggs, no omelets and the like. With your post confusion is confounded. Deliver us!! more
