Health Habits (for ppl with obesity tendency)

1. Always drink a glass of water before you start eating and sip small of water between bites, your stomach will be full soon. It takes 20 minutes for our brain to realize that our stomach is full.

2. Try to eat dense food more often. Light and fluffy foods get compact in your digestive tract. You will soon become hungry.

3. Keep your full focus on food before you start eating. Don't eat while watching TV or listening music. Analyze whether you really want to eat, and permit yourself later.

4. Never eat anything bigger than size of a cup. Your stomach will expand and you'll be hungrier. If you want to eat more frequently, prefer lesser amount of food.

5. If you want to lose weight, drink at least a glass of water every hour. Try to keep a water bottle near you so that you can sip water more often.

6. Take a shot of apple cider vinegar before you eat, it's supposed to minimize fat absorption. It also speeds up metabolism. Drinking more than a shot causes a vague nausea which helps suppress appetite.

7. Follow a methodical routine for eating. Cut food into tiny pieces, count your bites and the number of times you chew, set your utensils down between bites, and sip water.

8. Always eat from a plate or bowl. This will help you see how much you eat. Making use of a small plate or bowl will make you eat less. You can come to know the accurate amount of calories you are consuming.

9. Eat high calorie food items earlier in the day so that you have more time to burn them off. If you eat late, it will be more likely to be stored as fat. Try not to eat too late.

10. Don't take bites, either from others' plate or while cooking, as calories add up in faster rate. You won't be able to realize how much extra you're taking in. more

Mr. Ram Yadav Ji, In that case half to one cup of water (maximum half of normal glass, neither cold nor hot) more
Although I have found the mail as helpful, I have some comments. One confine yourself to three meals. Do not eat any thing between two meals except water and salads. Stick to a diet plan not exceeding 1200 to 1400 calories per day. I do not what is meant by dense foods. But I believe that light and fluffy foods make you satiated with lesser calories. Further I want to add that no meal should be a heavy meal. any meal of more than 500 calories is not advisable. Intermittent fasting for 3 to 4 days will help the system forming a habit of drawing energy from stored fat. Therefore this practice will help reduction of weight by consuming stored calories. Another advantage is reduction in pangs of hunger. Dr G L Moondra more
Thanks Mr Umesh Kumar for awareness. Furthr, I would like to known for my personal knowledge, the person who is diabetic and has been advised to take medicine just after the meal, what he should do whether to take one glass of water or less. Ram Yadav more
Mr. Ram Yadav, I too have said that water should be taken 30-40 minutes before or after the main meals or heavy diets. The scientific reason being as under. After taking food, enzymes are released in stomach to digest the foods. If you take water during or immediately after meals, the enzymes are diluted to delay the process of digestion. Of course half or a small cup of water can be taken in between or after meals in extreme summer seasons or on -only solid food intake with almost nil or no water. more
It has been said that water should be taken after half an hour of eating food. I failed to under stand who is right. In any way tips are good an should disseminate the information to people at large so that people may taken benefit of the above tips to lead a healthy life. Ram Yadav more
