Health Insurance Claims reality by LocalCircles

What an excellent report in todays paper ( attached) on health insurance claim games played by these companies with us.

Please share as widely in Your WhatsApp groups because public needs to outrage against this. Why do they make patients wait for long hours for discharge on cashless claims.

I think hospitals also are to be blamed but insurance cos are main offenders and Govt is also to some extent as they dont penalise them for delaying.

Make them report time taken post submission and if more than 1 hour make them pay penalty of 5X the claim amount to patient, all will work then.

Nonetheless great work LC Manager. Proud to be 10 year plus LC member more

This is nothing to feel surprising, this has become a regular practice of most of the private insurance companies. They talk so sweet and polite to bring the people in trap but gets totally different when bill settlement issue comes up. They will point out many laws and flaws to cut down the bill amount of beneficiary. Patients had to pay the extra amount. The other face of the story is mutual understanding with the hospitals that facilitated them to escalate the bill for no reason. Govt. health care service is getting deteriorated in absence of budgetary support in this regime. that made sufficient space for private hospitals and Insurance companies to make good business at the cost of common people. more
What we must do is the same thing as happened in USA where an executive of large Insurance company was shot dead. All top level executives of Insurance companies in India too, similarly, must be eliminated. They are shameless corrupt scoundrels. Do not spare even IRDA rascals. more
insurers and hospitals are hand in hand with each other and they are least bothered about the patient. When they come to know that it is a cashless settlement then they try to bill for all unwanted tests and medicines so that they can claim the same from the insurer who have a back end team of medical personnel who scrutiny the bills and I feel they get a commission for clearance of the bills more
Right esi katane wale bhi pareshan hain Sarkari main accha elaj nahi aur private main refer karte nahi aaj Kal private company wale esi pf bhi nahi kat Rahe government kuch nahi Kar Pati correption hi Kitna hai more
Yes, they take unduly long to clear hospital bills causing avoidable hardships to patients in hospitals. Their discharge is delayed and claims are reduced arbitrarily. I wonder what the Insurance Regulatory Authority is doing? Are they serving the people or the insurance companies? Are they neutral between them in their decisions to ensure justice is done? more
