Hi All,
I am really getting frustrated with the cold I caught over 15 days ago...it was so severe that even steam inhalation did not help and I had to resort to nasal sprays to be able to breath and sleep properly. Now the stuffy nose is just not getting away and I have to keep on blowing it and it is really frustratin and impacting my health a lot. Can anyone suggest something I am really fedup of all the antibiotics I have had to take all these days !!! :( more

Take Nux Vomica 200 at bed time for 3-4 days , it will give you tremendous relief. Only precautio is do not take coffee and raw onions till you are taking this medicine. Also try to avoid eating dal, rice and curd at night. more
stuffy nose is a physiological reaction to exposure of some part of the body to cold during night.U have to feel all ur body parts to know as to which part is cold in the morning. The parts have to be wrapped with what ever cloths in any number so that the cold parts become warm.As soon as the cold parts become warmer ,ur nose stffiness will start reducing.Any part of the body may be cold as the ankle ,knee thighs, back ears back of neck etc Please try & let me know. The symptoms you have are all due to the high levels of pollution in Delhi, specially during the winter months. We monitor air pollution in offices and even residences and can tell you that the various levels of pollutants have been at all time highs over the last few weeks. All antibiotics, etc... typically treat the symptom and do NOT cure the cause. In this case, I would recommend the right kind of air purifier in your rooms to reduce the exposure to pollutants. And again, there are many different air purifiers available on the market and we have tested about 28 of them and found most of them to be quite useless. Bu if you get the right one, it can actually help (not a quick short term cure, but certainly will improve conditions over the long run). more
Cetirizine is very effective in case of cold. This small medicine ( rice size) does wonder. Take one tablet with tea before going to bed, then don't come out of quilt. Basically your body should not be exposed to cold after taking this medicine. You will see 50% cold went after taking this for 1 day. 100% after 2 days. This is bit strong medicine, so avoid taking this if you have any presentations or work next day. This is available on all the chemist stores. Company name Cipla. You will find these 3 words on its packet. Okacet, Cipla and cetirizine. more
