higher pension date now May 3

On Monday, EPFO announced that all the eligible members of the provident fund body can now opt and apply jointly with their employers for higher pensions till May 3, 2023. Earlier, the deadline for the application for a higher pension was speculated to be March 3, 2023.

It was speculated that the window for applying for a higher pension by EPFO will close on March 3 because a Supreme Court order had mandated the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation to provide four months to all eligible members to opt for a higher pension on November 4.

According to the URL which has been activated on the EPFO platform, the deadline for opting for a higher pension has now been extended till May 3, and the window for the same will close after two months. more

Dear respected members, Good that some of us are talking about Higher Pension. I am aware of this only from Daily news papers that our Supreme Court has directed Govt to give Higher Pension to eligible EPF members, and guide lines. So the following are issues so far -- Govt has been pushing the deadline without any concrete procedures -- No clear circular from Govt on how this to be processed to Employees. At least I have not seen any. If any know please share the information where to find this. -- EPFO web page login is always shows in maintenance. Hardly able to login -- Even Employers (Companies) washing their hands off, with several reasons -- Like our company deducting the EPF/EPS below prescribed limit, so the company is not eligible. -- We have no clear directives from Govt, etc. There are many google videos shows pvt company EPF members are getting huge pension, with lots of computation and rosy pictures. But not able say how this higher pension can be realized. Looks like all EPF members are in dark, not sure what would EPF dept will do? Regards more
Higher pension window is not working getting OTP and if tapped on submission, it is showing some, if you try several times ie., 15 or 20 times, the same will repeate more
This should have been long time back if the govt was really interested and we hear lot of talks on the same but no work.only lip service as one would say hence SC got involved to give a neutral advise which govt kept on pushing the dates what normally happens in court. If it was done in the right time then all the people who had retired could have got higher pensions immediately after retirement. Also now it is not easy as if we have to pay arrears then how to do it since not many people will have so much money to invest at one stroke. It may involve lot of FD's which we would have done to break premature which means that we will have to incurr charges. It is not not as simple as one thinks . more
Neither EPFO nor religion oriented BJP GOVT interested to honour SC JUDGEMENT. Date after Dates more
