Just wanted to share something very important ...
During training on prevention of sexual harassment at work place , trainer asked us",
What should you check for when you sit in a hired cab?". The answer to that is child lock.
The room was silent for a few seconds as no one had said that. The trainer went on to tell us that in the last 4 years all cases related to rape/ molestation in cabs/by cab drivers had one thing in common, The victims were in cars that had child lock on them. The trainer himself is a lawyer who has served on the advisory board for drafting the Vishakha guidelines and has represented victims.
To my women friends on this group be aware of this the next time before you enter a cab check the child lock lever on d side of door or even better...
You don't open door from outside...
Instead ask the driver to open the door from inside and only then enter d cab...

In the world of social networking era, it is advisable to take the picture of the cab/auto no send it your family members or room mate with driver's name, approx time of reaching. Keep updating in case there is delay. With this initiative the driver will be cautious and think 10 times to commit crime. more

The cab or Auto should follow only the google route map and it should be made to be kept in voice mode so that you know where you are going. more

Hiring a cab or rickshaw require lot of attention. Some antisocial elements make plans in advance and trap women and girls. The many incidents of gang rape are occurred and still continued. The court law is liberal and rapists make there plans and implement them easily. The ratio of man/women in the society is nearly 1000/800. This is the main criteria of the problem. There is boom in the society " Beti bachao ". But most of people are behind " Produce sons only ". This notion has charged the entire mentality and calculation of the population. The result is in front of us. We are helpless, lame and careless. Where is the future of surakshit Bharat? more
