Per latest German lab tests there is ADULTERATION or SUGAR SYRUP in Dabur Honey, Patanjali honey, Baidyanath honey, Zandu pure honey, Apis Himalayan, Hitkari. Honey with up to 50% adulteration via sugar syrup can bypass Indian tests.
Dont buy these honey brands. Go for local honey. Attached full report. more
The credibility of scientific studies are acceptable only when they get published in a renowned scientific journals rather than by going in press media or by making own report as published study. Just few months back an Indian company had made big claims that they have found cure of Corona but later modified the claim that their products are immunity booster only. In scientific world everything is possible but needs systematic planned fair approaches. I wish that intellectuals must be very careful about scientific & technological matters. more
This is certainly shocking as a good no. of people consume honey for diverse reasons. Standards are already framed by competent autority. It's a growing indistry. The industry grew multifold in last one decade. Still such a large scale adultration! Is FSSAI sleeping all the way? The authority should collect samples randomly and get it tasted before placing in the market. Honey processing industries are also having quality control laboratory that could also be inspected to verify the credentiality of such laboratory. Such measures are important as honey is consumed tostay healthy but such adultered honey will do harm to health. Thanks for bringing such issue in limelight. more
It is really shocking information and thank you Madam for sharing this report. It is expected that these brand lobbyists may canvas for them and justify their products. However, those consuming honey should be vigilent in future. more
Sad to know that the renowned big companies like Patanjali, Dabur, Zandu, Baidyanath are selling adulterated honey which is harmful to the health of the people. Patanjali always claims that they are selling 100 per cent pure honey. Strict Action must be taken against such companies. more
Dear Ms Harsimran Kaur, Thank you very much for sharing such a report for general awarness. Every common man will believe that as it is tested in German lab and it showing adulteration, perhaps it is not good for health and so on. According to my perspective, any study carried out for academic reasons is fine. But when society is concerned, one has to be careful with any drastic comment. For example (i) Any foreign agency /lab data should have been compared with all the samples that are available in that countries mega stores. Then it could have been meaningful. (ii) Once, the samples are sent to any foreign lab, then the foreign country samples should have been collected and then the data analysis should have been carried out in India. Then only authenticity of all the data can be believed. (iii) I do not think the tests are themselves foolproof. Moreover, I am sure, India has enough sophisticated instruments to carry out such tests. Hence, making such data public (with limited studies) does have detrimental effects on our own society. more
