Can the experts and experienced please give their views if honey can be used as a sugar replacement for diabetics. And where can I find good quality honey in G. Noida, Noida, South Delhi. more

Nowadays we don't prescribe artificial sweeteners for sugar substitute. It is better to avoid it completely or if sugar levels are controlled then you can definately take honey. Honey has low glycemic index which means that it doesnot cause the blood sugar levels to rise to the peak as white sugar does. more

Honey, no doubt is the best replacement for white sugar; but NOT for diabetics. For diabetics, it is better to develop your taste buds in such a way that you do not crave for sweets. Artificial sweeteners like sugar free etc. are NOT good for health if taken in large amount, they are rather toxic. more
