Improved intoxication is not the aim of FSSAI. It is supposed to to look into food items. Hookah is not a food item. It is not an essential food item.So many cancerous and dangerous items are sold by hotels and bakeries. Those are essential items. If any body want to consume intoxicants and die it is their fate. Do you know that sodium amino glutamate a potent carcinogen is added in hotel foods to get taste ? Many azo dyes which are carcinogenic are added as red color in jams ? Quite a lot of sunset yellow , another carcinogen is added in sweets like laddu to get good yellow color ? By cooking acidic food items like tamarind in aluminium vessels you are consuming aluminium as aluminium tartrate to cause Alzheimer disease ? more  

there are so many items like cold drinks,liquors, but that is consumers own choice.For long time it is prevailing so do not try to make more publicity by testing and making more in favor of consumption. Once standardized sale and consumption surely increase. we are trying to pave the way one of the bad thing. more  

Hookah used at bars by teenagers is probably the traditional tobacco flavored with different flavors. Actually Hookah is better than cigarettes as the smoke passes through the water which takes away part of nicotine, paper smoke and releases cooler smoke. Good idea for the FSSAI to check but I think this is not a mass consumption item and should not be on the top priority list. more
