Can BIS please advise if they are working on the discussed standardization of hospital and nursing home bills. Just making sure that the price of medicines, devices and consumables are broken seperately and not as package will be a big reform.

If there ia tie-up arrangements between the Insurance Companies & hospitals, the hospitals are bound to keep their billing within the upper limit stipulated on mutual agreement. In many hospitals, the charges are shown separately under different heads. However, it is observed that the major portion of most of the hospitals' bills pertain to cost of medicines, which is not verifiable in usual course and easy to dupe.

The government has already capped the rates, However, spliting the bill is a good suggestion.

Every now and then we read in the newspapers that prices of medicines and medical appliances have been reduced. Yet, the sellers find newer ways of hiking prices. Someone should open their eyes and monitor the situations properly.

Ha.. !!!!this is a big racket linked with insurance firms, doctors, labs, ambulance ( accident victims converted to Donors) even minor muscle cramps are treated as surgery once they knew the injured is having medi-claim not only that they split the billing to the insured value and claim and also another 1 or 2 lakhs from he patients analyzing the patients family back ground by the counselling team of the hospital , Doctors are target fixed (like marketing target for other retail or business)to earn 50 times minimum their salary every month. so this is not a matter to be commented in few lines fact is on can write books on each section of Hospital industry how to make money. not like education where only one time capitation and the loss will be only money where as in medical after spending so much then only the start of the treatment from ones packet ( Money needed ) start every day medicine till death
