Mallika Majumdar ji has raised a pertinent question. Is food in hospitals and their cafeterias certified by FSSAI? do they go through the checks and balances. FSSAI please advise. more
To my knowledge, all Restaurants and cafeterias, attached to Clinics, hospitals,Five star rated Multi specialty Hospitals do not satisfy the FSSAI ratings. The run the cafeteria for NAM KE VASTHE and make the attendant of the patients to take food outside hotel. The food quality are below the standard and charges are very high. In many hospitals even a cup of coffee/tea beyond certain time is impossible. They sell fast foods, soft drinks, oily samosas etc which are unhygienic and harmful to patients as well as to the attendants. HENCE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE QUALITY FOOD TO THE PATIENTS AND TO THE ATTENDANTS, THESE CAFETERIAS MUST BE BROUGHT UNDER FSSAI FOLD. more
naturally, if you fall sick the you have the nearest hospital and you will get corporate treatement and corporate bills after eating is hospital cafeteria . Beware more
I HAVE SEEN PASTRY SHOPS IN A FIVE STAR HEART HOSPITAL. WHILE THE VICTIM IS UNDERGOING BYPASS SURGERY, RELATIONS ARE CONSOLING THEMSELVES WITH FAST FOOD, AND PREPARING TO FALL IN LINE. WE HAPPENED TO DEVELOP INFECTION AFTER EATING AT FOOD CORNER MANAGED BY SUPER SPECIALTY HEART HOSPITAL IN DELHI. SO PLEASE USE YOUR WISDOM AND AVOID OUTSIDE PREPARATIONS AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. IDEALLY FOOD SHOULD BE CONSUMED WITHIN 45 MINUTES OF ITS COOKING. THE FOOD LOOSES ITS NUTRITIONAL VALUE AFTER SIX HOURS. ALL MARKETED FOOD IS OLDER. more
Yes. It is very pertinent question. I hope many people would be eager to know the answer. Inside hospitals the food served, I guess, Is mostly unchecked and the food regulators seldom visit their restaurant / canteen. Thanks for raising the issue.
