Hospitals make over 1700% Profits

Hospitals make over 1700% Profits on Procedures and the profits from medicines and other medical and non medical aides add or supplement this profit. At one point of time almost 80% of Higher Education Centers were directly or indirectly owned by Politicians. I wouldn't be surprised if the same is not the case with Hospitals too. Besides the Appolo's, Medanta's, Fortis & Max Group...there are several small & big Hospitals ( Non Government) which cater to ever increasing population. The Young Intern Doctors too open up their own clinics after a few years of working under a senior. When a MRP Inspectors would hardly dare to question a clinic or hospital where VVIP connection powers their profiteering as there is adequate provision for commissions to such Inspectors too in their annual budget. There have been cases where Hospitals have asked the household members to get life saving costly medicines for patients who are already dead. These medicines just go back to the source from where it is procured for re-sale. There is bound to be rackets galore if one just digs a little. more

Payments of Lacs of rupees fee every year right from admission to post graduation will ultimately result in to similar ends as talented pupils deprived from the medical education. The Management Quota and the NRI quota granted to the Private Institutions had literally made it a rat race of Money and money only. more
Easy money causing all short cuts.It was said that food must be chewed 32 times to digest properly. But these people do not have time to chew, they simply swallow everything. It will not be too late to find them on hospital bed. They will be paid in the same coin. The spoiled relations will devour them and their business more
Private Hospitals are charging the Patients heavily which is beyond the capacity of normal person, thus deprived of treatment. For example. Pvt. Hospitals are charging 30000/- for MRI, whereas some Labs are doing in 2500/- to 7000/-. Govt./CGHS rate is only 1600/- app. Now you can see the difference. Even in Injection Syringe, difference is ten times the market rate. OPD Consultation charges are more than 1000/- whereas Govt./CGHS rate is 150/-. So their rated be fixed as per govt. rates such as CGHS rates, NOT MORE THAN THAT. Any one violating this, be fined heavily may be 50 Lakhs, fine of less than does not effect them. They are allotted land for hospital at a subsidized rates. As such they have been asked to keep some portion of beds for EWS category of patients, and give them free treatment, which is practically not done. They should entertain CGHS other Company empanelled patients, the treatment be CASHLESS on the production of their ID proof , treatment charges/bill be charged from CGHS or the respective Empanelled authority, verified by the patient. This should be irrespective whether the hospital is empanelled or not by the respective authority. The patient can not be deprived of his/her basic right of medical treatment for any reason whatsoever/requirement of some/particular document. Treatment of the Patient is Prime. more
