How can these be called as an express trains
Distance 1,256 km
Scheduled Travel time: 27 hours, 35 minutes; average speed: 45.53 kmph
Total stoppages (including originating and destination station): 39; it means, one stop at every 32.20 km.
However, most of the time, this train runs delayed by 3-4 hours. Earliest it will reach late by 85-90 minutes. Thus, average speed comes to below 45 kmph and then according to rule, it is not an express train.
This is more than 24 hours journey train. but this has just a platform halt of 90 minutes at Jaisalmer.
So this train never get cleaned or watered at Jaisalmer. Many a times AC coaches also run without water in the toilets. Then just imagine, what would have been the situation of sleeper and general compartments.
Mostly this train runs with 24 coaches but anyone can count the passengers in the train between Jaisalmer to Jodhpur.
Earlier, this train used to run between Kathgodam and Delhi. Then it was extended to Bhagat Ki Kothi, Jodhpur (via Marwar Jn, Ajmer, Jaipur). Till that time, it was a good train.
Things became worse when it was extended to Jaisalmer.
This is not just a single train like that but there are many trains which has been extended unnecessarily, many run as an express or super fast trains but these trains has never reached to its average speed to qualify for either of the tag.
22927/28 Lokshakti express (BDTS to Ahmedabad), used to run as an express train but now been upgraded to super fast. This is 8 hours 40 minutes journey with 481 km distance and has 22 stoppages. it means, one stop at every 21.86 km and one stop after every 23.64 minutes more
