Dear Harchand , will appreciate if you can give some reference of govt circular , debt fund is taxable , and there may be negative return in case of interest RATE GOING UP . EPF IS SAFEST AND TAX FREE INVESTMENT AVAIBLE , ON RETIREMENT YOU GET SO MANY OTHER BENIFIT FROM CO , SO NORMALLY YOU NEED MONEY WHEN YOU ARE AROUND 68-70 OR WHEN THERE IS MEDICAL NEED . I UNDERSTAND LIQUIDITY IS NO ISSUE IN EPF AND WE GET MONEY IN 10- 15 DAYS ONCE APPLIED ONLINE THROUGH AADHAR PLEASE COMMENTS more
Mr. S peri,\ your reply is confusing, you said EPFO has no obligation to pay interest on dormant ac, other side you are saying that as per recent circular, dormant ac will also get interest please calrify\ Doshi more

First of all it is not known in which organisation you were working. No contribution toward pension is required to be made on attaining the age of 58 years as member becomes eligible for pension under EPS-95. Employers have the obligation to pay PF contribution until the age of superannuation. I do not think in any CPSEs and Pvt sectors superannuation age is more than 60 yrs and it is in State and Central Government services of certain categories. In these case the PF accumulations are not held with EPFO. Anyhow withdrawal limit is 3 years i.e. 3 years from the date of superannuation, else there is no obligation on the part of EPFO or the trust to pay interest on those accumulations. However, recently Gov annount that dormant accounts will also be eligible for payment of interest on such accumulations. Any how better to withdraw as early as possible and enjoy your money by investing under monthly income schemes. more
Unless there is compelling reason, there are other better option from liquidity perspective and also from ROI perspective. more
