How to address Political Corruption
Each NETA and IAS IPS officials to furnish details of all movable immovable assests owned by them wife and all close relatives along with the source of income and proof of having paid Income TAX on such income.
Election campaigning to be made short swift , sweet ,digital and low cot affair. organisation of Road shows big rallies should be banned. All NETA to appear on TV Channels , RADIO and also give advertise through news papers internet explaining the electorates about their future plans for citizens and nation. The promises should not be empty one should be backed by concrete action plan and resource allocation proposals. The campaigning through print digital media to be tracked by Election commission and violations to be imposed heavy penalty.
No need for any political funding the entire expenditure for major political parties to be borne by the Government through consolidated fund that is Budget of GOVT of INDIA. The payment to TV Channels and Print Media web to be made directly by the Government for major political parties others to get some fixed grant more

RAID..RAID AND RAID is the only way. ECW/Vigilance Dept. needs to secretly ascertain who is making fast money and then RAID. more

But this is always done. Who will monitor/verify is the issue. The ITO is not concerned about public life. The Election Commission is not bothered about returns. General public does not find it necessary to go to the Election Commission's site, slogans are enough. Are we not aware that several people accused of corruption have been elected as CMs? Still we vote for them. Even dreaded dacoits have been MPs. The simple maxim is get elected if you want to escape the law. Otherwise how does an MP/MLA/Corporator with a criminal record and having assets of just a few lacs get elected? More than 50% of them declare the cases standing against their name. However, there is a rule that you are not a convict till so declared by the Supreme Court. Is this not an eye-wash? In a Democracy, we have a rule for every thing. And who makes these rules? We have the liberty to interpret rules to our convenience. Morality gets back seat in public life. Only few leaders are exceptions. They resign on moral grounds for the fault of others. more

I have some more suggestions. All political campaigning officially should only be in the form of televised debates through local channels. House to house campaigning should be done only with personal funding. Only a fixed number of political workers should be paid to carry out campaigning depending on constituency size and population. Everyone else, like in the USA, should only be volunteers. Property in the name of non earning spouses and family members should also be included in the net assets of the politicians. (Vice President has a huge house but declares that there is no house in his name. That maybe true but then he still lives in that house.) All public servants should not participate in the political process except for voting. All government servants serve the nation i.e the entire nation not just those who belong to their jati or ideology. more
