How to control triglycerides

1. Reduce carbohydrate intake- Cut down on soft drinks, sweets, sugar and junk foods, reduce roti and rice consumption; take adequate protein.
2. Aerobic exercise- Running, walking, cycling, swimming, HIIT- choose one that you like,
3. Strength training- 2-3 times a week (30 min each session),
4. Adequate sleep- 7-8 hours per night; consistent sleep schedule,
5. Lose weight (if overweight)
6. Prefer healthier fats & oils for cooking,
7. Abstain from alcohol (for those who consume alcohol),
8. Stop smoking (applies to smokers),
9. Screen for diabetes and hypothyroidism (as triglycerides may be elevated in these conditions),
10. Look for adverse effects of drugs (in applicable cases) - Diuretics, Oestrogen and progestin, Retinoids, Steroids, Beta blockers, etc. These drugs may cause an increase in triglyceride levels. more

Chew food thorughly to a liquid form before swallowying( eat water& drink food) water should be sipped like tea allowing it to mix with saliva the starter of digestion / metabolism. Drink more than 1/2 litre warm water on waking up even w/ out washing your mouth, but ensure to brush your teeth in night, this allows beneficial bacterias formed in mouth to be swallowed, drink water sitting down, not standing. more  
India is inhabited by poor (more than 80%). They are dependent on roti, rice, potatoes. So called poor people drink n smoke too much. Their life style cannot be changed. A visit to a L2 shop after 5 pm depicts true picture. The clothes of majority of buyers of English whisky(paua) are dirty and worn out. So is the condition of slippers. more
