How to view Form 26AS from outside India

I am a Resident Indian and currently in US for about 4 months. I have a plan to file my online tax return from US. I tried to view my form 26AS but the website doesn't allow me to do so. It wants me to register as NRI to view the same. Now I want to know
1. Is there any way to bypass this and be able to see my form 26As as RI?
2. Should I register myself as NRI (which I am Not) and see my TDS in 26AS?
3. If I do what are the consequenses?
Any suggestion? Thanks in anticipation. more

If one is abroad travelling andcteturn only in August how will one file taxes even though there is no tax due. How to avoid penalty. Is there any provision to file for an extension as there is no due more
You have register in income Tax site with your pan Number, then after logging in you can view your 26A more
Site will not open if you are abroad more
You can file the return if you are abroad. However you cannot access form 26AS if you are abroad due to stupidity in the implementation the portal (You cannot bypass this stupidity even if you try to access through your bank, NSDL etc). But this should not be difficult if you ask your bank to send the TDS certificate by e-mail in case you are a salaried employee. more
Someone tells me the oenalty is only if you owe taxes and there will no penalty for late filing if you gate a refund more
I think that it is necessary to file tax return on or before last date for getting refund. more
Penalty is for late filing of return. more
In addition to suggestions given above, it is possible to access a computer in India (which is in switched on state) from USA and access the 26 AS form, through the Income tax site. You may also try the other options such as using your bank site to access 26 AS form. However, it will be updated only by the end of May, 2018. Therefore wait till then after confirming the way it can be done. Last year I have filed my income tax by remotely accessing a computer in India. Actually, government should realise this and help the Indians (who are not NRI) to file income tax from abroad well in time, without any delay. more
