HUL Profiteering

In 2018-19 this circle had escalated complaint on HUL profiteering and a 400 crore case was made against them by anti-profiteering authority.

HUL is again raising MRP by 3-14% and reducing grammage on many products.

I want to question the authority what is the status of original case and will they be studying this new increase in MRPs and grammeg reduction to investigate profiteering by HUL more

Hul makes profit as sometimes people do not check the quantity vs prices. Look at the Dishwashing liquid. It is less expensive to buy those small packets instead of a bottle. Calculate the quantity and price. You will know. When I contacted HUL with calculation and prices they ( at least) replied saying it costs money to manufacture bottle and that is why it is more expensive. Usually when you order a larger price decreases but not in many products in India including this one. more
we can avoid buying HUL and similar products more
Even in competitive items there is profiteering. How it would be justified for the Govt. to intervene? more
What is profiteering? If a company has a monopoly on a product, then it can be accused of profiteering. If the product is not a monopoly, then it is just making profits, which is the root of the prosperity of the nation, the interest earned from our savings, the salaries we earn, the profits which are made by everyone involved, the taxes earned by the government and spent for the people etc. more
Very rightly said Mr. DP Parashar. There are Lenses and lenses. Likwise Frames and Frames. The cheapest frame is more than Rs. 1,000/. Like wise a pair of cheapest costs more than Rs. 1,500/. It is really out of bounds for people earning less than Rs. 2,000/ So Government should start supplying the poor at nominal rates. There should be a PRESCRIBED MARGIN BETWEEN THE MANUFACTURING COST THE FINAL COST TO THE CUSTOMER IRRESPECTIVE OF THE STAGES OF DISTRIBUTION. more
