Hyd episode a conspiracy - chandan mitra

Things are playing out just as the script ordained. From the day Narendra Modi led the BJP to a spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha elections, disoriented sections of Opposition parties and the intelligentsia started scouting for issues with which to put BJP on the back foot and destabilise the NDA government. The idea was to build up a stack of incidents that would put the government on the defensive, play up the negatives and suppress the positives. In a rare convergence of tactics, mass protests got linked up with legislative blockage.

On the face of it, there is nothing in common with the murder of a Muslim youth in Bishada village in Western Uttar Pradesh allegedly for stocking beef in his refrigerator, the ongoing disturbances on the Hyderabad University campus which have hogged national headlines for the past week, and the stalling of parliament, particularly the Rajya Sabha, to forestall passage of important Bills such as GST. But deeper reflection would reveal that all these developments are connected at a political and strategic level. Each of these had a common target: the Narendra Modi government and the BJP, the purpose being to make the government look inept and, by extension, India appear ungovernable.

The strategic thinkers figured at the very outset of the Modi regime that the BJP had two weak links in its chain of support. First the minorities, particularly Muslims, who are traditionally antithetical to the party, there being is a long history of mistrust between them dating back to the Jana Sangh days. The other weak link is the Dalit community, which has always supported the Congress in the mistaken belief that the Gandhi-Nehru party is inherently sympathetic to the downtrodden and has given the community many benefits.

Upper castes, mainly Brahmins, supported the Congress for long, so much so that when OBCs made their political mark in the late 1960s, two commonly heard slogans were: "Brahmin-Harijan (Dalit) bhai bhai/Ye pichhdi jati (backward classes) kahan se aayee?" Sometimes, in place of Brahmin-Harijan, the latter was substituted with Muslim. But since the Ram Mandir agitation of the 1990s, the upper castes steadily gravitated towards the BJP, robbing the Congress of a sizeable support base since the trader communities were traditionally linked to the Jana Sangh/BJP.

This background is important to understand the contours of the conspiracy to encircle the BJP socio-politically. Narendra Modi's phenomenal victory alarmed the anti-BJP parties because they realised that this scale of victory (especially 71 seats from UP) would not have been possible without a significant chunk of the Dalit vote going in its favour. Since winning the Lok Sabha election, the BJP on its part launched a systematic campaign to deepen its inroads among the Scheduled Castes and Tribes, highlighting the contribution of Dr BR Ambedkar in the freedom struggle and in shaping the Constitution. A panicky Congress began to accuse the BJP of "stealing" its icons. This indicated an admission of SC votes steadily slipping away from the Congress net.

As far as Muslims are concerned, Prime Minister Modi has gone out of his away to convince them that the BJP is not their enemy. A succession of economic schemes for minority welfare focused on educational improvement and skill development appear to be cutting some ice with the Muslims. This trend was all the more alarming for the so-called secularists since many Dalits were already lining up with the BJP.

So the Opposition strategists decided that the trends had to be arrested and reversed. Akhlaq's murder on the beef issue came in handy to consolidate Muslim support. And the Hyderabad University affair was a God-sent opportunity to reassert the BJP's alleged antipathy towards Dalits, although the party had nothing to do with the Dalit student's angst or suicide. In reality, the BJP has never been antagonistic towards Dalits. The philosophy of Antyodaya (or uplifting the most downtrodden in society) of its foremost ideologue, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, speaks eloquently for its inclusive social vision.

So the BJP's opponents needed an emotive issue to rally Dalit communities under an anti-BJP platform. In politics, it is a cliche to say perceptions matter more than reality. Thus, the suicide of one Dalit student of the Hyderabad Central University after his expulsion by the authorities along with four others was just the emotional stick needed to put the BJP on the defensive.

The timing gives the BJP-baiters' game away. It has now been revealed that seven out of the at least nine students who committed suicide during the last decade on the Hyderabad University campus were Dalits! Where were the anti-BJP groups then? It is common knowledge that many students of this university are influenced by radical Left ideologies, but they never mounted such a feisty nationwide campaign when those Dalit students took their lives. Why would they? After all, the Congress was in power at the Centre for ten full years from 2004 to 2014 May. There was no need to play on Dalit students' sentiments since that would have gone against the UPA government, of which the CPI(M) was an ally for four years, and Left parties as a whole broadly supportive, for the rest of its tenure.

This is not the place to delve into the merits of the matter. From all accounts, the BJP ministers at the Centre had played by the rules. If there had not been a larger anti-BJP conspiracy playing out, their actions would not have been subject to such wild criticism. Nor would their comments and statements been taken out of context to inflame passions recklessly.

It is clear every few weeks that anti-BJP forces led by the Congress and the Left will invent or exaggerate incidents that suit their strategy of sowing mistrust against the BJP among major social groups like Muslims and Dalits. Significantly, there has been no outrage over other murders or student issues anywhere else in India, although many similar incidents have happened in the last 20 months. Such things have been commonplace in contemporary India but we know that unless fanned by politicians with the aid and abetment of a section of the media which is pathologically hostile to the BJP, such incidents peter out in a few days. During Atal Bihari Vajpayee's term too, similar attempts were made to incite castes and communities against one another to give the impression of widespread instability.

"Secular" strategists reckon that by creating continuous unrest, the belief will grow that the BJP is incapable of governing. In fact, the more accolades the party gains at home and abroad, attempts at destabilisation will increase and intensify. Congress and Left-oriented groups are remarkably adept at propaganda. They continue to retain their hold on academics and intellectuals who enjoyed the crumbs of office as long as the Congress was in power. Now they are behaving like fish out of water and thereby destabilising the bowl itself.

In other words, once media fatigue kills the Hyderabad University issue, just as the Akhlaq murder has died a natural death (puns unintended), a new disturbance targeting the BJP will crop up somewhere else. I hope the Prime Minister will tackle them with a firm hand to nip the mischief in the bud. more

Fully agree that this Government is the best we had in many years. And the citizens have to be on their guard against those disruptive forces - who call themselves ' opposition" - whose main objective is public loot of the national resources and also its people. You just have to take stalk of the running of the present Congress ruled States and their condition, to understand the bankruptcy in Governance !! more
Whether right or wrong the opposition play its role of opposing and we will go on giving Good Governance . We are doing and performing to the best of our ability and knowledge . People who have given us mandate understand every thing. What we could do in one &half year is known to the people .We shall go on performing our duty of giving the country Good Governance . This has also been reflected in yesterday deliberation of our PM more
Dear Friends, SUB : ANALYSIS OF TOLERANCE AND DALIT DEBATE. Though BJP party & Govt is full of talent , still it lacks Congress like disciplined DICTATORSHIP . All NDA Ministers are by & large honest and efficiently handling their respective Ministries . This is the best Modi Ministry since independence. 2. Bigger problem before the country however is that actual voters whose vote matters in elections are mostly illiterate and cast & religion conscious . This is the weak point of Indian democracy where Congress wishes to encash on .Opposition parties - congress and regional outfits - are fearful of their existence once Modi Govt completes it term successfully . Hence they have ganged up against BJP to mislead the poor illiterate voter in various ways like spreading false rumours of intolerance , anti Dalit and many other flimsy issues . Regional outfits are comfortable with Congress for following reasons . i) Congress permits them to freely indulge in corruption . ii) Regional parties can blackmail Congress for unreasonable grants and other favours . iii) Regional parties do not want a full majority Govt at the centre because it dents their clout over central Govt . 3. Muslims by temperament are against anything HINDU unlike Hindus who are most favourably disposed towards them inspite of centuries of persecution and slavery at their hands . Hindus are always ready to be friend with Muslims inspite of Muslim's strong conservative religious beliefs .Hindus as usual have never been united for their cause for centuries unlike Muslims . Hindus only know of sacrifices to get back the freedom usurped out of their hands due to callous and divided attitude amongst them. After getting freedom at enormous cost , they again fiddle with it and advocate SECULAR ideology leading to another cycle of centuries of slavery . See the irony, Muslim did not fight for freedom of this country but having got it for FREE , they opted for ISLAMIC state as against pseudo-secular India . Indian Muslims inspite of enjoying more freedom & clout in India for religious freedom than their counterparts in Islamic countries , always play VICTIM card while at the same time refusing to mingle with majority community . In none of the western democracies the faulty concept of Majority/Minority is practiced . Where is the room for Majority/Minority status in a democracy when all citizens are governed by the same rule of law ? Why separate treatment for different citizens ? Muslims not only in India but the world over owe more allegiance and sympathy for Islamic neighbours than their Motherland 4. People of this country are destined to remain poor because they refuse to learn anything from HISTORY and sacrifices of their ancestors . Except Modi and by & large BJP all other Political parties and their dynastic owners are corrupt to the core . Their sole aim is to remain glued to power and make money than serve the nation . Their leaders have made enormous wealth during last 70 yrs . They fit well in Congress Mantra of Khao Aur Khilao which suites all political outfits across board . 5. The income source of most politicians , bureaucrats and businessmen has dried after new Govt formation . Govt staff feels the pinch of disciplined timings and corruption free working . Bureaucrats are being asked to deliver which they never did in the past nor did Manmohan asked them to .Present dispensation does not suite them . So all of them are collectively manufacturing intolerance and anti Dalit issues because they understand that people of this country are foolish to get tutored their way . Dalits & Muslims never ponder over the fact "What Congress has done for them in last 68 year of their miserable plight " . CONGRESS ONLY USED THEM AS THEIR VOTE BANK . 6. Though Politicians , Bureaucrats and Businessmen were fed up with Congress corruption prior to 2014 elections to vote BJP to power , they later realised , their pockets being drained because of drying corrupt incomes which they were used to and their personal expenses were tuned to corrupt income . Corrupt Media too which was sumptuously enjoying the hospitality of Congress is not happy because their perks being dried up by new Govt and therefore are hell bent on defaming the Govt on any & every issue . Media refuses to highlight the good works being done by the Govt . In the last few days , Stock markets have gone down because of international cues but Media channel Aaj Tak was heard blaming the Govt for the fall . This is quoted only to give an example of Media negativism . 7. Congress is politically bankrupt party because its imported leadership has made all its leaders impotent to be of any relevance to run the party and a possible challenge. Second run Congress leaders have lost their independent standing after having fallen flat before the Itly origin leadership .Having lost their sheen its leaders have beelined behind incompetent DYNASTIC leadership . Congress leaders can not stand on their own feet for a long time to come because of impotence syndrome having set in them and dare not challenge the party leadership . One can draw parallels between pre independence European British Control and post independence European Italian control over Congress now . Both conditions are similar . 8. On the other hand Common man wants quick and perceptible gains which is not possible in this vast ULTRA DEMOCRATIC country of 1250 Million . It takes time for gains to percolate down the line to the last man in the queue and PUBLIC aspirations have no limits . Common man never easily appreciate good work of a Govt as fast as he displays his disenchantment with bad periods of economy . 9. The scenario is very disappointing . No predictions can be made for future . Right minded , right thinking , patriotic citizens must come out in open support of NDA Govt if they are really interested in the good of this country of theirs . PAK & CHINA have made major inroads into the country during LAX period of UPA rule to destabilise India . GUARD it studiously with elephant like zeal . RN KAPIL. New Delhi. 9968286444. more
Please give a thought why Educational Institutes are not left alone to function on their own. They certainly don't deserve political pressure or political appointees for their fair functioning more
