As already detailed by many, if the cancelled berth is not allotted properly, there are chances of corruption by the TTEs. I am of the opinion that a nominal amount be refunded for cancellation of tatkal tickets, which will be useful the next eligible genuine person waiting for tatkal quota. more

Sir, there will be a lot of misuse of Tatkaal if refunds are made. Genuine travellers are always at risk of not getting the tickets to travel. more

I 100% agree that some refund should be given, so that people may go for cancellation, if they want to cancell there journey at last minute. Sameway no refund rule is not justified i a reservef ticket is cancelled before 4 hours of departure of train. When there is no refund nobody will go for cancellation and that berth eill be shown occupied in conductor chart. Then conductor will sell these berth at exorbitant price to unauthorised passenger's without knowledge of railway. This incresses corruption. more
