I am 72 yrs old. I was diagnosed with diabetes at age 56 and was put on oral drugs. After about 5 yrs,I was put on Insulin as various combinations of oral drugs were unable to control BS.In the beginning I was taking 26 iu of Wosulin 30/70 before breakfast and 20iu before dinner along with Gemer P2 one tablet before lunch.
This effectively controlled my BS.
I also started daily morning walk(brisk) for 40 minutes followed by light exercise.
For past 4 yrs I have also included pranayam( Bhastrika, kapalbhanti, anulom vilom and bhramari) in my routine.
This has resulted in gradual reduction in Insulin dosage which is presently 14/10iu.
My BS levels are normal with this regime.
From my experience I find that an active lifestyle, strict diet control and regular exercise and yoga are the best way to keep daabetes under control. more

I have earlier written that fear and worries are the worst enemies, instead, change in lifestyle and adoption of Yoga make your life happier and easier. more
There is no proper food safety control in India. In the name of food you eat lot of chemicals and pesticides. There is also the chalk powder capsules and tablets packed in Chandni Chowk that looks better than original medicines. So carefully select the shop to buy medicines and brand of food. For eg: most coconut/ other oils are adulterated with used motor oil or poisonous palm kernel oil. Many popular brands were caught in Kerala. We diabetics have to be extra careful as food is our necessary evil. I go by the principle " a known devil is better than an unknown devil". So all of us better check with nearest food standards authority on the safest brands of our food and find a reliable medical shop. Just make an effort to be safe and leave the rest to fate. more
Very true Mr. Giri. A strong will power and positive attitude are the 2 most important factors for leading a healthy life. more
