I am a regular traveler on Delhi Chandigarh route for past few months by Shatabdi. In the morning hours its shocking to see on both sides of track and in open area just outside New delhi railway station people defecating in open. People sitting in long queues, is it really Delhi,where is swachchta. Railways should do something about it. Why the area is so stinking and full of filth. people living there in nearby houses don't they have toilets and they aren't even bothered about cleanliness and hygiene. When Railways have introduced bio-toilets in trains , I think as community service they can create bio-toilets near tracks also at least people won't defecate in open. How can India become clean and swachch.

What is railways CSR in this regard? A good corporate would try to lift the society along with it. But, I am not batting for free bees. Identify areas with big population in railway neighbourhood which defecates in open, demarcate a piece of land and have a Sulabh complex started there. Encourage people to use it. more

Most of the land along the tracks belongs to Railways but has been illegally encroached upon and nobody, repeat nobody, has the guts in India to remove encroachments from Govt land more

Big rats can be seen all along the main Railway Ststions as they thrive on filth and food left overs which are thrown on the tracks near the Railway Yards ..,. Let Railway Board take a trip of All the Four Metros ..Delhi, Mumbai , Kolkatta and Chennai / Bangalire to get a first hand understanding of the needs of Swachh Bharat in these areas . Jai Hind more
