2. The second problem is parking of broken down vehicles and other vehicle on the middle of the road or any where on the left most lane. This should not be allowed. Broken Down vehicles should either be pushed or towed to extreme flank of the road beyond left most lane and "Hazard Sign" must be put up at least 100-150 meters before the stalled car. Now a days every vehicle is supplied with Hazard Signage by the manufacturers but the bus and truck drivers affix the same on their vehicles as warning red light. This is gross violation of Traffic Rules and they may be challaned for not putting up "Hazard Sign" at least 100-150 meters before the stalled vehicle.
3. All vehicle, whether stalled, broken down or stopped for any reasons, must be parked only at the designated Parking Area. NOida-Grater Noida Exp-way has such designated Parking Area and vehicles must be parked, pushed or towed to this area. Any violator must be challaned. In Europe or in America one cannot stop his vehicle any where except at the designated Parking Area.
4. Of late nearly 50 or so "Challi" stalls have come up all along the Expressway. Cars, two wheelers etc suddenly slow down and stop near such stalls creating very serious traffic hazard. In fact no such stalls selling anything, whether Challi, Guava or Cold Drink etc in summer months should be allowed on the road side of the entire Expressway. In case it is felt that there is need to allow such stalls etc, they may be allowed only in area behind the service road and that two with fairly long approach and exit road so that vehicles existing or entering Expressway do not slow down on the Expressway but the reduce or speed up their vehicle only on the exit or entry road. This is done all over the world who allow public conveniences, food stalls etc well away ( upto 1/2 km) from the expressway. Drivers driving at 100kmph on Expressway need the certainty of no obstacle on the road.it is responsibility of the authorities to ensure this. Otherwise cases for damages should be filed in law courts for deficient services. After all every one pays road tax for safe driving. more
