I have a completely different perspective. Our Democracy begins upon the black dot on your middle finger and ends once you stamp the vote [Now press the EVM button]. Thereafter, nothing works for the people, by the people and of the people. On the other hand people are stamped as CHOR and onus lies upon them to prove it otherwise. There are no rights, powers or privileges meant for them. Everything is grabbed by those who claim to serve them. But this service comes at a very heavy cost. Powerless common man cannot do anything beyond waiting in vain for the next elections where again he has very limited choice. The process of election is also quite tricky. Except the welfare of citizens, everything else carries great importance. The manifesto is not binding upon the candidates and their party. So in other words manifesto is a kind of cheating which cannot be enforced through the court of law. This is called rule of law. A candidates seeks votes as a party representative on false and malafide grounds changes the party without reference to his voters. This in short is gross derogation of democracy.

When the new Delhi Government started with a bang, hopes ran high in terms of union government. But the haste to step down before the Cong-BJP combine pulled the plank could not be staunchly substantiated before Aam Public. This gave opportunity to those who were nowhere in the race to capture their position in the run. On the other hand AAP's campaign [At least in my observation] became more and more feeble with several paid media/purchased quarters campaigning against them.
I had some very appealing themes and wrote to AK and prof YY to pass it to them without any consideration. But unfortunately, many like me must be in the queue. So "Mera Number nahin Ayaa". more

Sekhar, I agree that people were attracted to AAP for their innovation and unique approach. But this is only true for politically informed people. The vast majority of our population living in small towns and villages are not aware of AAP's principles and they have nothing to do with manifestos either. Most people are driven by communal sentiments, short term benefits, media campaigns, fear psychoses or their anger towards the ruling party. In such a situation, AAP leaders and candidates found it extremely difficult to convince people that AAP is the answer to all the panacea. We found it so difficult to convince people that Kejriwal resigned on the grounds of principles. People in small towns interpret it as a cowardly act of running away from responsibilities on the first opportunity. The difficulty is that value judgement is also very personal and sometimes social/regional. And even though you may try and people may just listen to you quietly, they have already judged you. Their mind is made up. To make things worse, this time I heard of complaints of bribery involving tickets. Many opportunists tried their luck to make some quick money or enter politics easily. These unworthy candidates also made some dent to party's reputation. It is also not ruled out that some of them may be the planted men from other parties to defame AAP. Whatever they may be, this time it was difficult to adhere strictly to the parameters for obvious reasons. I agree, Jan-Lokpal is beyond understanding of non-political people and therefore non-appealing to majority. While it must be implemented on priority basis, we ought to have think-tanks brainstorming over how to create the second wave in the country on the face of severe opposition from the status-quoits to create mind-space for AAP. And this time the volunteers must storm to take the lead. more
Dear Sekhar, we are going through a very difficult period of Indian polity. So I would request you not to feel offended. Probably your ideas were great, but with so little time and with such a new organization, things are very difficult to be streamlined. The fact that the AAP has finally fielded sufficient candidates for a country as large as India, it is a commendable job. It is also commendable, the way people have supported with money and self-made campaign materials. I also wanted to contest this election, but I did not get a ticket. That did not stop me from supporting the chosen candidate from my constituency or waging an online war against formidable oppositions. We cannot afford to lose time now. AAP will be better organized soon, and I am sure our voices will also be heard. If it does not happen the way I believe, then remember the Tagore's famous poem - Tumar Dak sune jadi keo Na ashe tabe Elka Chalo Re! (Translated - If no one responds to your call, then do not stop... March on!) more
Yes Sekhar that's why APP formed to implement SWARAJ & to get JANLOKPAL into operation thru which most of the problems solved. Regarding suggestions, due to elections they may be busy with there tough schedule. However if that mail was watched that might send to the concerned team . If you have not any problem you can share that suggestions in this circle. So that we may also have some view about it. more
