I have terrible experience with MTS internet service. I purchased the WiWi pendrive internet connection. I, by mistake, subscribed as pre-paid and after coming home, I found there is no range at all and the system could not be used. Immediately I asked them to check the issue and send a man to see the installation etc. and change the plan to post paid plan as they are not able to give the range. For that they sent a proforma and I provided the required information Nothing - but nothing happened. Again I complained, again they sent the proforma. It happened in many times. I called the customer service, at last they said they cannot provide net connection in my area as there is a "terrain in between my house and the tower" - but no such terrain is there. Again and again I requested for change of plan from post paid to pre paid, but they were adamant and will make any change only after I pay three bills , i.e. pay for three months, though they cannot provide any internet range. I paid two bills, asked them to disconnect the service - which too they did not do. They sent the third bill and also the fourth bill for no service provided to me.
To take the issue to consumer forum I asked them to give my usage details - which too they did not send. I pointed out that i need not pay the third and fourth bill as I already asked them to disconnect the connection which they did not do and also they are unable to provide me the required range to operate the system. For that no answer.
At last they sent legal notice and I provided all the information to the advocate, when their (MTS) staff called and told he willdo something. He told there is no such rule that one should pay three bills to get the plan changed, particularly when no range could be provided by MTS. They agreed to the mistake they did, but now also I get mail from MTS threatening to sue me for not paying. I told them I have asked their lawyer to give a reply whether there is any fault in my side, after seeing all the correspondence between me and MTS. Lawyer also did not give any reply till date.
Now, although there is no fault on my part and MTS has miserably failed to meet their part of obligations, yet I am called on phone and threatened and also mail sent at intervals of one to two weeks threatening me. What to do? more

When they threaten you, why cannot you threaten them. Why are you afraid when there is no fault of yours. You too send them a notice through a lawyer and sue them for your mental agony and the inconvenience caused by them. more
When you file cases in consumer forums try to make the case for higher value. All consumer forums award a fraction of what is being prayed. When the case doesn't stop at forum and goes to state commission , the amount you get at the end pays for your costs. more
Most of telecommunication companies have the cheating attitude.Best way to deal them is through consumer court. more
Dear Mr. Sadanandji, Take all the correspondance to an advocate, ensure that proper legal notice is given and then file a complaint in the concerned district Consumer Redressal Forum. more
Sadanand & Suresh Parmarji : I too have a similar problem with the same Company. They have been demanding a payment of Rs.538.00 for a bill raised by them much after I had given a request for conversion from Post Paid to PREPAID during Apr 2014. They have issued a similar legal notice & are threatening legal action. They have not replied for the letter written by me during Apr 2014 & instead have been sending the reminders continuously & I also receive calls on my mobile claiming to be advocates from Delhi. I had endorsed copies of letter to Cellular Operators Association of India & the TRAI but there has been no response from them. I think we have to take concerted efforts in exposing the Company's designs to to take the gullible public for a ride. Please consult at your end & keep me informed.
