I think the other way around. Cancellation charges should go up and these charges should be used to reduce passenger tariff. One more thing, because of lower cancellation charges, we book tickets even when we are unsure of travel. more

Quite a number of people are regularly booking and cancelling tickets. Particularly during the weekends.. So, cancellation charges must be hiked so discourage this habitual booking. more

Sir humbly I don't agree with ur argument,u should not burden somebody else to reduce ur travel charges,as even if somebody is uncertain to travel and at last he cancels ticket he was giving cancellation charges earlier also. Secondly IR writes very proudly that it collects only 57 percent of total cost.So it is not going to reduce ur travel charge atleast this government's total tenure,pl.be very sure. And all this is due to total inefficiency of IR,there are so many lekages of money in IR,it buys 100 Rs thing in atleast 175 Rs.therefore if and only if corruption in Railway can be reduced then efficiency of whole system will go up and reduce ur tarrif. more

I agree with Prasant Shrivastava. Cancellation charges should be reduced. rather, It should be linked to how early the reservation made. Railways get full fair in advance upto 4 months and get high relief of interest on its borrowings. It is a handsome source of Railways income also. Cancellation charges should depend on how longer period money is held by the Railway. more
