Why is it so that only IAS can do good? The Metro man is not an IAS. Dr. Kalaam was not an IAS. I can give innumerable examples.
Anyone who is honest and hardworking can improve the things in any sphere. The issue is that honesty in this country is difficult to find and very difficult to be sustained. Reasons are many. One important reason is the attitude of Politicians to lord over everything. As soon as a new Minister comes, everything is done to please him/her. In turn they want to keep their electorate in 'Good Humor'. New trains are started from their States, fares for certain class of passengers are rarely revised. They appoint their 'Henchmen' in various Committees, Boards etc. They never take stern action against persons who never do their duty.
Corruption is rampant in Railways. Otherwise why someone will offer Crores to become Railway Board Member. Remember the cases which got exposed. Many more times might be unexposed.
Let us call 'A spade a spade'. Only then things will change. more

The very pertinent question as to why only an IAS with specific qualities as being strong and with zero tolerance. The political bosses should give sufficient wherewithal and free hand to operate, I am sure there will be many to take on the challenging jobs like this. May be from defence forces/ para mil forces/ IPS / civil administration. Last but no the least, if the Chairman of railway board has not given justifiable reasons for resignation, he should be tried for inefficiency as service provider. more

Railway safety system available but not serious implementation part is not done seriously railway management is required rail safety system should be accountable top to bottom level so result comes in fever.Today railway on focus on increase fare system because passenger faculties not target. more

We are having repeated Rail Accidents that have made I am sorry to say travelling in our trains a nightmare.The meaningless loss of huge invaluable lives coulwould have been mord have been stopped if the Railway Officers e alert( The Board Members ) .The Divisional Managers ,Railway linesmen and gang men have a nice and easy life at least most of them.The permanent job structure should be abolished and instead a contract job say of 11 months for each of them including the Railway Board Members should be implemented if Indian Railways is ti be saved .Accountability is unique and only currently can be seen but what will happen the Railway Minister throws Down his mantles -the dead will not be brought alive .An experienced minister instead if resigning should keep in mind that the Passenger safety along with passenger comfort counts first and foremost.As I have heard more than the population of Australia is ferried to and fro by our Railways ,lets improve.Please keep a hold on the Bullet Trains I will request our beloved Prime Minister.Unless trains at ordinary speeds are safe Bullet trains cannot run safely in our tracks and will definitely result to higher loss of human life which should be avoided at any cost. more
