ICICI Bank

ICICI bank has brought their service level to pathetic stage. In May month, I transferred funds to USA. They committed for a rate in writing. They waited for two days to tell me that signature is not matching. I sent document again and again confirm that rates will remain same as initially committed. They confirmed in writing. But day later they used daily bank rate and I was short of 1.1 L. They said sorry for the “miscommunication”, but they can’t reverse. After putting up a fight they reversed 98K. I was still short changed 12K. Now for another issue since morning I try their 800 number for another issue. After pressing so many buttons once you reach to “speak to Rep”, they make you hold for 5 min and then it gets disconnected. Other than complaining to each other in such forum, is there any actions we can take to teach lesson to such behavior and deficiency in services of banks? Seems like in a india we lower our expectations and ICICI kind of banks manages to even go lower. more

Complain with Banking Ombudsman, with details of transaction and communication confirming the rates, they are working more like a Sarkari Bank now. more
It is advisable to send them a LEGAL NOTICE to pay the balance with interest. If NOT agreed, better to approach Consumer Court for Redressal. more
You can claim the loss due to bank's negligence and if required, you can approach Banking Ombudsman. more
Advisable also to Lodge complent with RBI - - Vigilance Dept and Ministry of Finanace. Both are effective BUT by mistake don't go to Bank Ombudusman. more
You can lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman of RBI more
