IDEA: How to Earn extra money from Indian Trains with out raising the cost of Ticket in Future

Dear Sir,
I was thinking how Indian rail can earn extra money by commercializing the trains. Please comment on it...and reply back if this idea will add some value to nation. Here is a simple calculation:-

1) In India 11000 trains are running every day.
2) Let us assume that each train is having on an average of 10 compartments.
3) If we allow private companies to give their advertisements and ask for a feasible price like Rs1000/ for each compartment per day.
4) Total Income Per Day will be: 10000*11000 = Rs 110000000(Eleven Crore Rupees)
5) Total Income Per Month Will be: 110000000*30 = 3300000000(Three Hundred Thirty Crores)
6) Total Income Per Year Will be: 3300000000*12 = 40150000000(4015 Crores)
This Calculation has done for 365 Days.....

If it is helpful than please forward it to Railway Ministry... more

For last 8-10 years, I have saved lots of money by saving ELECTRICITY of compartment,by SWITCHING OFF PASSAGE FANS in train when few people were standing on foot board and enjoying fresh air.....From MIRA Road to VIRAR.(when train was not crowded) more
Govt should stop giving out incentives to railway employees like extra train tickets for railway employees and their family, increased bonus(as compared to central govt employee) immidiately. If railway is running in loss how they can give such incentives to their employees. Also giving extra tickets not only harm the revenue but also fill up limited seat inventory. more
When one or two people are standing on foot board and taking fresh air. There is no need of passage fan to be SWITCHED ON.There should be specific announcement in train asking commuters to SWITCH OFF the PASSAGE fans that are not REQUIRED by STANDING PEOPLE. If govt. has increased the fares, why to drain the hard earned money into waste. more
idea to increased fund for railway is that thousand of bhighas land as well abondon buildings are lying vacant and not properly used, so it can be auctiond or given on lease till railway is not getting done work on its. more
idea is good and appreciated! but implementation is lagging instead of raising the ticket fare it is better to curtail without ticket passengers, increasing the train travelers network by charging affordable fare, eg. availing more number of service lane and make the people to travel by train instead by other source which also helps to save a proportionate level of consumption of pretrol more
